Mac Users: Why the “P2P” Label Isn't a Problem

The 'P2P' label on macOS is a known quirk in the NordVPN app (Version 9.x+). When connecting to regular servers in locations like San Francisco or London, the macOS client displays a “P2P: [City Name]” prefix even though these servers are part of the standard fleet.

My testing confirmed this is only a labeling issue inside the macOS interface. These servers support everyday browsing and streaming as well as P2P traffic, and should not be interpreted as specialty or restricted P2P-only nodes. I verified this by checking the underlying server hostnames, such as us9348.nordvpn.com, which map to NordVPN’s standard infrastructure.

In short, the “P2P” prefix on macOS is a presentation quirk and does not affect performance or features.
